MagneFlex Teal is a middleware application that, when used in conjunction with the MagTek family of payment terminals and Magensa transaction processing services, provides a simplified and consistent interface for a POS Application to initiate and complete card-based payment transactions. To maximize flexibility, Teal is template-driven, using data translation techniques to seamlessly inter-operate between the MagneFlex input API, the Terminal interface, payment card technologies (MSR, EMV, key-entered), and downstream processor APIs. There are several different ways you can integrate Teal: Software semi-integrated: MagneFlex is installed and configured on the local POS workstation. Fully integrated: MagneFlex is fully integrated and configured into the local POS application. Hardware semi-integrated controller: MagneFlex is centrally installed, configured, and managed by a Store Controller. Hardware semi-integrated terminal: MagneFlex is installed and configured on a CPU for each POS workstation and its payment terminal.

What do 'high coercivity' and 'low coercivity' mean?
  • These terms are used to describe a magnetic striped card, but they actually refer to a characteristic of the magnetic media - the stripe. A high coercivity card therefore means a card with high coercivity media. Coercivity is a measurement of how much magnetic energy is required to fully encode the media. It is expressed in Oersteds (Oe), a measurement of magnetic energy.
  • Low Coercivity Cards have media requiring about 300 Oersteds of magnetic energy. High Coercivity Cards have media requiring about 2750 or 4000 Oersteds of magnetic energy.

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommends cleaning and disinfecting high-touch surfaces and objects at least once daily. It is important to properly clean and disinfect your MagTek device.
  • CLEANING THE EXTERIOR OF DEVICE
  • Below are suggestions to ensure proper cleaning of the EXTERIOR of your MagTek device and to help keep you and your customers safe. This includes cleaning and then disinfecting the device.
  • Clean the exterior of the device by removing any contaminants, dust, or debris using a soft, lint-free cloth. To clean your device, the lint-free cloth should be slightly dampened using a mild soap and water solution.
  • Follow with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to remove any remaining/excess moisture.
  • Using a new soft, slightly dampened, lint-free cloth or wipe, disinfect all surfaces with a surface-appropriate disinfectant. We recommend using disinfecting wipes and/ or isopropyl alcohol wipes in concentrations between 70 and 90% percent. The higher the concentration the faster the cleaner will evaporate, which is better for protecting electronics.
  • Allow the device to dry completely.
  • CAUTIONS AND WARNINGS
  • Avoid using too much liquid while wiping.
  • DO NOT use liquid cleaning products or insert any other objects into the device.
  • Allowing liquid to get into the device’s internal electronics can cause irreparable damage and void the warranty.
  • Avoid damaging the read head, only clean the card path with approved cleaning cards.
  • DO NOT spray any cleaners directly onto your device.
