MVI56E-MCM/MCMXT

The MVI56E Communication Module allows for Modbus Master and/or Slave connectivity from Rockwell Automation® ControlLogix® processors to Modbus RTU/ASCII devices. Each MVI56E port can be configured as a Master or Slave.

The MVI56E-MCM and MVI56E-MCMXT act as input/output modules on the ControlLogix backplane, making Modbus data appear as I/O data to the processor. Two independently configurable serial ports can operate on the same or different Modbus networks. The MVI56E-MCM is designed for standard process applications and the MVI56E-MCMXT is designed for the Logix-XT™ control platform, allowing it to operate in extreme environments. It can tolerate higher operating temperatures, and has conformal coating to protect it from harsh or caustic conditions.

ILX34-MBS232

ProSoft Technology’s ILX34-MBS232 module is ideal for point to point applications with a maximum distance of 50 feet away (15.2 meters) your processor. These include SCADA and field device interface applications. The module can be used in CompactLogix L1 processors or Distributed 1734 Point I/O systems. In addition, the module can be configured as a Master or Slave.

PTQ-MCM

The PTQ Modbus Master/Slave Communication Module allows Schneider Electric Quantum processors to interface easily with other Modbus protocol-compatible devices.The PTQ Modbus module provides an easy way for users of the Schneider Electric Quantum processor to add two Modbus serial ports to the control platform.

The module acts as an Options module for the Quantum platform allowing communication on a Modbus serial network. Compatible devices include not only Modicon® PLCs (almost all support the Modbus protocol) but also a wide range of process and control devices from a variety of manufacturers. Many SCADA packages also support the Modbus protocol.

The MVI56E Modbus TCP/IP Client/Server Enhanced Communication Module allows Rockwell Automation ControlLogix processors to interface easily with Modicon Programmable Automation Controllers (PACs) and a wide variety of Modbus TCP/IP-compatible instruments and devices.

MVI56E enhancements include local and remote configuration and diagnostics through the module's Ethernet port, CIPconnect technology for bridging though Rockwell Automation ControlNet and EtherNetIP networks, and an on-board web server for access to module documentation and sample program files.

The MVI56E-MNET and MVI56E-MNETXT are functionally the same. The MVI56E-MNET is designed for standard process applications. The MVI56E-MNETXT is designed for the Logix-XT control platform, allowing it to operate in extreme environments, at higher operating temperatures, and has a conformal coating to protect it from harsh or caustic conditions.

MVI56E-MCMR

The MVI56E-MCMR Enhanced Modbus Master/Slave Communication Module with Reduced Data Block allows Rockwell Automation® ControlLogix® processors to easily interface with devices using the Modbus RTU/ASCII serial communications protocol. Compatible devices include a wide variety of instruments, process measurement devices, popular brands of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and programmable automation controllers (PACs).

The MVI56E-MCMR acts as an input/output module on the ControlLogix backplane, making Modbus data appear as I/O data to the processor. Backplane data transfers to and from the processor are asynchronous from communications on the Modbus network. Two independently-configurable serial ports can operate on the same or different Modbus networks. Each port can be configured as a Modbus Master or Slave, sharing the same user-controlled 5000-word database.

The MVI56E-MCMR utilizes a reduced Input/Output (I/O) data block for transferring data to and from a ControlLogix processor. This reduced data block makes it ideal for use in remote rack applications over ControlNet™. For EtherNet/IP™ applications where bandwidth is not an issue, it is strongly recommended to use the MVI56E- MCM.

The Multi Client module improves performance when controlling multiple servers on a Modbus TCP/IP network, by supporting up to 30 clients.
MVI56E enhancements include configuration and management through the module Ethernet port, CIPconnect technology for bridging through ControlNet and EtherNet/IP networks, and has a web server to access on-board documentation, Add-On Instructions, and sample program files.

PLX31-EIP-MBS4

The EtherNet/IP® to Modbus Serial gateway offers bi-directional data transfers between Modbus Serial and the EtherNet/IP network. Our EtherNet/IP Driver uses Class 1 I/O connections and/or Class 3 Message instructions. Protocol conversion gateways are the ideal solution for distributed networks when adding a remote rack becomes too costly.

The PLX31-EIP-MBS4 gateways are stand-alone DIN-rail mounted gateways that provide one Ethernet port for communication, allowing for remote configuration and diagnostics, and up to four (4) serial communication ports. The PLX30 gateways also come with an SD Card slot (SD card optional) for storing configuration files. In the event of a failure the SD card can be transferred to another gateway reducing downtime. These gateways also come with a wide input power range (10 Vdc – 36 Vdc), and an extended temperature range (-25°C to 70°C ). The PLX30 gateways include all the necessary cables required for communication.

PLX81-MNET-61850

The Modbus TCP/IP to IEC 61850 gateway enables communication between the Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs) on an IEC 61850 network and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) or Programmable Automation Controllers (PACs) on a Modbus TCP/IP network.

The configuration utility software provided with the gateway uses IED configuration files to import complex IEC 61850 data structures. The utility creates Variable files and Function Block files for import into Unity Pro projects for Quantum or M340 processors.

IEC 61850 is the international standard that defines the hardware and communication requirements for all devices within substation automation. The standardized naming conventions imposed by the IEC 61850 standard improves interoperability between systems provided by diverse manufactures or created by multiple system integrators.
